Mental health re-education & human rights network [Aust.] Inc.

Yes! There is a better way

Founded in 2001 and based in Adelaide, we are Australia's first and only wholistic

therapeutic, support and educational Mental Health community.

Psychiatry with soul

Soul-centred psychiatric therapist Dr Maureen Roberts offers wholistic and natural  therapy for psychospiritual development and for people in crisis.. read more..

We are a non-profit community organization devoted to re-educating the public about safer, more empowering, drug-free and wholesome ways to help people in crisis who may have been labelled as ‘mentally ill.’

Our volunteers offer support, information, home and hospital visits, community educational forums, radio interviews and referrals to helpful practitioners and organizations. Founded in 2001 and based in Adelaide, we are Australia's first and only wholistic therapeutic, support and educational Mental Health community.

Other Network Activities:

  • Drug-free Crisis Care & Family Therapy
  • Support for Schizophrenia Sufferers & Carers
  • Talks on 'Mental Health' at Schools & Universities
  • Guardianship Board & Mental Health Court Advocacy
  • Legal, Government & Media Advisory Work
  • Distribution of Information to Libraries & Community Centres

We have a threefold vision for genuine 'mental health' reform, which involves:

  • re-empowering people in crisis through drug-free, wholistic therapies, support and human rights advocacy
  • re-educating the public about ‘mental health’ and 'mental illness' from a soul-centred psychiatric perspective
  • educating the public and media about the known dangers, human rights abuse and harm caused by drug-based biopsychiatric ‘treatments’ and coercion

The Network is not, in other words, another 'consumer' or carer group, but rather a new vision of a caring community of equals, who can support, help, learn from, protect and liaise with each other. Instead of viewing distressed individuals as ‘mentally ill’, we prefer a ‘crisis resolution’ approach which recognizes that suffering is universal and that the best response to it is compassion, networking and mutual support, empowering wholistic therapy, good nutrition and regular contact with nature.

If you are interested in joining the Network, looking for a guest speaker, seeking drug-free crisis care, or would like to offer your home or venue for a support and study group, feel free to contact us . . .
